Caldwell History
The peaceful southern Kansas town was once anything but peaceful. In it’s early days it was a mecca for outlaws, gunslingers, saloons, Indians, and prostitutes.
Businessmen from Wichita saw dollar signs when they gazed upon Caldwell and the opportunities that it could bring. No one, not even someone with a star on their chest could coral the chaos in Caldwell- The Border Queen City.
