An event of hope and remembrance, the Relay For Life of Sumner County will take place Friday at Sellers Park in Wellington.
Numbers to know
12- This is the 12th year for the Relay for Life of Sumner County. Organizers have been busy making sure this year’s relay will be better than ever.
10- Ten teams are participating in the relay this year.
510- According to Sumner County’s Relay for Life web page, $510 has been raised so far this year so far.
Times to remember
5p.m. - A survivors dinner will take place.
6p.m. - The kick off ceremony will begin.
7p.m. - The relay will officially be underway when cancer survivors take a lap around the track.
7a.m. - The event that starts Friday evening will conclude Saturday morning at 7a.m.
There will also be a balloon launch during the opening ceremony of the Relay for Life, balloons will be carrying messages to those who lost the battle with cancer, plus messages of hope and prayers for those who are currently fighting.
Everyone knows someone, weather it be a family member, a friend, or a someone in the community that has been effected by cancer. It’s not too late to donate to help fight the disease.

Survivors may register for the event during the survivor dinner. Donations are welcomed during the relay. There will also be a basket auction, and performances by Michelle’s Encore Dance Studio and Turning Pointe Studio of Dance, plus much more throughout the night.
