Chamber of Commerce representatives watch as McDonald's Manager Traci Soles, owner Tom Ondeck, and Assistant Manager Bertha White officially break ground on the new McDonald's location in Wellington on the east side of town on US-160. The new restaurant is in between Wal-Mart and the High School.

    The latest scoop on the new McDonald's location is a scoop of dirt. An official ground breaking ceremony was held at the new site located at US-160 on the east side of Wellington.
    Wellington Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors along with Director Shelly Hansel oversaw the proceedings. Restaurant Owner Tom Ondeck says he and his crew have been excited about the move.
     "We really have, probably for a year." Ondeck said. "It's all coming into play now...the train has left the station." The owner said the new McDonald's will have several "state of the art" features to improve service.
     "This one here is going to have a duel drive through," he said.  "So hopefully we'll be able to serve folks a little faster."
    Wellington McDonald's Manager Traci Soles is also ready for the move.
    "I'm looking forward to it, I've been at the one there for 20 years," she said after the ground breaking. "It's not only going to be good for the employees but for the community as well, it's going to be a great environment."
Ondeck also said "thank you" Wellington, the surrounding community, and all of the customers that have supported McDonald's through the years    The new McDonald's location is slated to open in August.
