The 2017 Miss Kansas Outstanding Teen competition is underway in Pratt at Pratt Community College. First winner named from Health and Fitness Competition is Taylor Clark.

Taylor Clark of St. John continues her winning ways from the Miss Kansas Outstanding Teen contest last year with a first place finish in the Health and Fitness competition this morning in Pratt.

Last year Clark, as Miss South Central Teen, won the preliminary talent award with a drum set performance to "Sing, Sing, Sing." This year Taylor comes into the competition as Miss Butler County's Outstanding Teen and walked away from the first preliminary round of competition with the top award in Health and Fitness. Talent competition for Clark will be this afternoon at 1:30 p.m.

Clark is a 4.0 high school student from St. John High School and hopes to one day be a band director. She is a long-time 4-H Club member, has been a Kansas State 4-H STEM spokesperson and has played drum solos in many regional and state music festivals.
