Marlene Anita (Evans) Stewart , 67, passed away on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at her home in Wellington.
Marlene was born the daughter of Franklin Aubrey and Juanita Jane (Davison) Evans on Wednesday, January 11, 1950 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. She graduated from Okmulgee High School. Following high school, she graduated from what is now known as the Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology. While there, she met Joe Stewart. On November 11, 1970, Marlene and Joseph D. Stewart were united in marriage in Okmulgee. Together they celebrated 47 years of marriage. Joe's career took the couple to Houston, Texas, where their children were born. They lived in Houston for 12 years and later moved to Abilene, Texas for 13 years. They finally moved to Wellington, to be closer to their families and have made this their home since 1995. She was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Joseph Stewart of Wellington; son, Justin Stewart and his wife Sarah of Olympia, Washington; son, Jeremy Stewart and his wife Tessa of Wellington; son, Jared Stewart of New Braunfels, Texas; granddaughter, Alysa Stewart of Wellington; grandson, Alexander Stewart of Olympia, Washington and granddaughter, Caralynn Stewart of Olympia, Washington.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Franklin and Juanita Evans.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Sunday, December 17, 2017 with the family present from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Funeral services for Marlene will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 18, 2017in the First United Methodist Church, Wellington.
Interment will follow at Prairie Lawn Cemetery, Wellington.
A memorial fund has been established in her loving memory to the First United Methodist Church. Contributions may be mailed or left with the funeral home.
