Wyndham Hotel chain moves into Wellington
On Monday afternoon, the ribbon was cut and the Oaktree Inn was officially no more. Now a member of the Wyndham hotel chain, the south property has changed to Baymont, while the north end is now the Travelodge. Both hotels are open to the public and commercial guests.
“We’re excited to be joining the Wyndham family and are looking forward to providing the guests with the high-quality accommodations that the brand is known for,” said Ramona George, the hotel’s general manager.
Part of Wyndham Hotel Group, the Baymont Inn & Suites hotel brand is a chain of more than 400 midscale hotels located throughout the United States and Mexico that takes pride in neighborly hospitality. When guests pop into any Baymont Inn and Suites hotel, they will find one thing stands out from other midscale hotels: good, old-fashioned service. Guests will enjoy free breakfast at Penny’s Diner through Wyndham Rewards, the brand’s guest loyalty program. Travelers can join the free program at www.wyndhamrewarss.com. Each Baymont Inn and Suites hotel is independently owned and operated under a franchise agreement with Baymont Franchise Systems, (BFS) Inc, or its affiliate. BFS is a subsidiary of Wyndham Hotel Group, LLC, and parent company Wyndham Worldwide Corporation. Reservations and information are available by visiting www.baymontinns.com.
Since being acquired in 2006, Baymont has more than tripled in size and, at 410 hotels strong, continues to grow exponentially. Recent milestone openings, including its 400th hotel and first hotel in Mexico, marked an unprecedented 2015 and landed Baymont on Entrepreneur Magazine’s Top Fastest Growing Franchises of the Year in 2016.
Baymont has resonated with hoteliers from the beginning. Nearly 30% of Baymont owners have been with the brand since the acquisition and 50% of the brand’s 2006 locations still remain Baymont hotels. More than 20% of the brand’s franchisees own multiple Baymont hotels.
Baymont is located in 47 cities across Kansas.
A part of Wyndham Hotel Group, Travelodge is a chain of more than 400 economy hotels located throughout the U.S. and Canada designed to be a basecamp for adventure at and affordable price, energizing adventure for guests no matter where their travels take them. Standard amenities include free Wi-fi, mini-fridge, and microwave. Each Travelodge is independently owned and operated under a franchise agreement with Travelodge Hotels, Inc (THI), or its affiliate. Reservations are available by visiting www.travelodge.com.
With hotels in 43 states, Baymont is on a quest to conquer its homeland while expanding across borders. The brand has set its sights on the remaining seven states (Alaska, Hawaii, Maryland, Maine, Massachusetts, Oregon and Rhode Island), and is looking forward to further expansion in Canada later this year.
Wyndham Hotel Group is the world’s largest hotel company, based on number of hotels, encompassing more than 8,000 hotels, and over 697, 600 rooms in 77 countries.
