Dwight Parker, 74, left this earth to be with his Savior, Saturday, December 23,
2017 at his home in Oxford.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 A.M. Thursday, December 28, 2017, at the Shelley
Family Funeral Home in Arkansas City. Visitation will be Wednesday, December
27, 2017 from 9:00 A.M. until 8:00 P.M. with the family receiving friends from 6:00
to 8:00 at Shelley Family Funeral Home of Arkansas City. A memorial has been
established with A.L.S. Society and the Hackney Community Baptist Church.

up in Missouri on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Ricker Memorial
Church of the Nazarene, 33286 Hwy 133, Meta, MO 65058, prior to a private
interment.
Dwight Myrl Parker, Sr. was born on March 23, 1943 the son of Loren and Irene
(Vaughn) Parker in St. Louis, MO. He was a 1961 graduate of Vienna High School.
He graduated from Cleveland Chiropractic College in Kansas City, MO and worked
as a chiropractor in Dixon, MO for approximately 20 years. He later worked for a
construction company and in 1988 he started Parker Siding in Aurora, Colorado. On
September 9, 1990 he was united in marriage with Rebecca Ann Holman. They
moved to Kansas in 1998 where Dwight farmed with his father-in- law, Gaylord
Holman. Dwight was an avid hunter and fisherman, was a member of the Masonic
Lodge in Oxford, the K&O Steam & Gas Engine Club and the Hackney
Community Baptist Church.
Survivors include his loving wife, Becky Holman Parker of the home; daughter,
Suzi Pruitt and husband Kim of Nixa, MO; son, Matthew Parker and wife Allison
of Seattle, WA; grandchildren: Anthony Hatfield, Kylea Kirchoff and husband
Matthew, Jackson Parker and Daphne Parker; step-grandchilden: Kourtney Pruitt,
Kailee Pruitt and Jaidyn Pruitt; twin brother, Douglas Parker and wife Joyce of
Chula Vista, CA; and a sister, Beverly Lemon of Fair Grove, MO; an aunt, Tessie
Parker of Rolla, MO; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Dwight is preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Bruce Parker and his son,
Dwight “DJ” Parker Jr.
Dwight was a loving, brave, sensitive soul who will be missed by many.
