Edna Bolen, 86, of Wellington, passed away Sunday, December 31, 2017 at the Wellington Health and Rehab in Wellington.
Edna Marilyn Bolen was born March 9, 1931, the daughter of Everett and Verna (Davis) Carlow in Milford, Maine. She graduated from Old Town Maine High School and attending cosmetology school. Edna was united in marriage to the Reverend Lyle Bolen in 1973. Edna was a beautician in Maine and co-pastored the Udall Four Square Church with her husband for 30 years. They also started the New Life Christian Academy in Udall. She enjoyed painting, crocheting hats and slippers, and loved to sing. Those who knew her loved her great sense of humor.
Edna is survived by her daughter, Debbie Mayo and husband Rod of Wellington, son, Gerry Tibedeau of Udall; a brother, Richard Carlow and his wife Andre of Bradley, Maine and a sister, Orisa O’Keefe of Old Town, Maine; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, 4 great great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband, Lyle and a son, Jay Tibedeau.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, January 3, 2018, at the Four Square Church in Udall. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 2, 2018 from 9:00 A.M. until 8:00 P.M. with the family receiving friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the Shelley Family Funeral Home in Wellington. A memorial has been established with the Udall Four Square Church and may be left with the Shelley Family Funeral Home 704 N. Washington, Wellington, 67152.
