For Cathy King, who lives at 215 S. F, things got off to an ominous start early last Wednesday morning when the sounds of her dogs barking woke her up.  It was not long after that she was jolted by the multitude of sirens coming down the street.  “Sure enough, here they came,” Cathy said.  “Smoke was everywhere.”
She said she saw Sam Layton get rescued from the balcony after the fire department arrived.  She said it “was scary.”  Things got even worse fires were now visible on both side of the street.  “I was confused as to how both were on fire at the same time.”  She said the building next door to her had been empty for a while.
She said there had been a police presence in the neighborhood until late last night.
