William G. "Bill" Norris, 89, of Wellington, passed on Saturday, March 17, at Via Christi-St. Francis in Wichita.
 Bill was born the son of William Clarence and Selma (Achelpohl) Norris on Monday, November 5, 1928 in Wichita.
He proudly served in the US Navy during the Korean War off the seas of Japan and China. Once home, Bill began his long career as a mechanic. He worked first for Sumner County, then he started his own shop and later became the bus mechanic for USD 353. Once bus service was outsourced, Bill began handling maintenance at Plessey Welco until he retired.
Survivors include his sister, Betty McMillan of Wellington, children: Bill Norris and his wife Dana of Wellington, Mark Norris and his wife Linda of Wellington, Kansas, Jeff Norris and his wife Joan of Owasso, Oklahoma, Christy Norris of Wichita, Richard Norris of Wellington, Ronny Norris of Wellington, and Patrick Norris and his wife Heather of Wichita; grandchildren: Matt Norris, Lindsey Norris, Brady Norris, Abbey Clark, Amanda Alam, Javen Mellington, Gracie Norris, Levi Norris, Brett Burch and Matthew Burch; great-grandchildren: Sofia Madrid, Santos Madrid, Hayden Norris, Wyatt Norris, Acelynn Kelly and Araelynn Tobin along with his former wife, Gerry Norris of Wellington. He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence Norris; mother, Selma Norris; brother, Dick Norris; sisters, Donna Wilson and Evelyn Helen Norris; daughter-in-law, Deanna Norris and step-mother, Esther Norris.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 21, 2018.
Recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at St. Anthony-St. Rose Catholic Church, Wellington.
Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, March 22, 2018 at St. Anthony-St. Rose Catholic Church, Wellington.
A memorial fund has been established in his loving memory with the WHS.CC Scholarship Fund. Contributions may be mailed or left with the funeral home.
