Janice L. Strothman, 101, longtime Wichita resident, died Sunday, April 29, at Sumner Regional Medical Center in Wellington. Janice was born the 8th of 10 children to William J. and Cora (Ellen) Porter on Saturday, February 10, 1917 in Abbyville. On February 22, 1941, Janice and George F. Strothman were united in marriage in Hutchinson. Together they celebrated 58 years of marriage before his passing in 1999. The couple lived all of their married life in Wichita, where Janice was a member of the University United Methodist Church.  Survivors include her son, Randy Strothman and his wife Beth, formerly of Wellington, and currently of Manhattan; grandson, Brent Strothman of Topeka; granddaughter, Tara Lewis and her husband Chris of Kansas City, Missouri; granddaughter, Tracie Kazar and her husband Jason of Manhattan, Kansas; two great-grandchildren: Braxton and Isaac Kazar of Manhattan, along with many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and siblings.  Graveside services for Janice will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at Calvary Cemetery, 610 S Vassar St, Wichita. Memorial contributions may be given in her name to Sumner Regional Medical Center Endowment Foundation or University United Methodist Church.
