Francis Ancell, 77, of Medical Lodges Oxford, passed into eternity on Sunday May, 6th. Francis was a lifelong resident of Sumner County. He was born July, 13, 1940 to George Carson
Ancell and Rosa Jane (Love) Ancell. He joined a large loving family that included brothers, Alva Jack, Floyd Lee, Henry Marvin, Jon and sister Margret May.

Francis had resided at the Riverview Care home of Oxford for several years. While there he entertained his fellow residents and staff with smiles and a unique quiet “heh, heh, heh” laugh. All the while his bright shining eyes were checking to see if you were paying attention. Francis was blessed with a wry sense of humor which seemed to run in the family. He loved visiting with people and making them smile. It was never a problem to get him to eat his meals as he enjoyed them immensely.

Francis was preceded in death by his parents George and Rose, infant brother William Raymond, brothers Alva Jack, Henry, Floyd, and sister Margaret Hain (Ancell).

Survivors include brother Jon, fellow residents and staff at the care home, also by his guardian Rose Cook-Rose and her family whom had welcomed Francis into their family and one of their own.

His smile, chuckles and sparkling eyes will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Because he loved being outdoors so much his services will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 11th at a shelter of Cave Park on the east edge of Oxford.
