Looking to bolster its throwing events, the Cowley College women’s track and field team did not have to look far to find recent signee Caitlin Mannon from Central Burden High School.

Mannon had a solid high school career for the Raiders, qualifying for the state meet in the shot put and discus. She capped her high school career by placing 10th in the shot put and 12th in the discus at the 2018 Kansas State Track and Field Championships.

Cowley College throws coach Glenwood Edwards Jr. believes Mannon’s best performances as a thrower are yet to come.

“Caitlin has a lot of untapped potential,” Edwards Jr. said. “She comes from a strong family foundation, so I am positive that we will get to see the very best of her while she's at Cowley.”
