Ralph "Stewart" Elsass, 81, formerly of Wellington, passed away Monday, July 16, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, MO. Stewart was born in Wellington, Ks on February 25, 1937. During his time in Wellington he was active in a number of community and civic organizations. He especially enjoyed Community Theatre and volunteering as a Boy Scout Leader. He moved to Marshfield MO in 1981, and later to Springfield MO. In more recent years he was an active member of the Asbury United Methodist Church in Springfield where he shared his vocal talents in the choir and his carpentry skills on church charitable projects. Stewart was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Mary Elsass, his first wife Nancee Elsass, his son Edwardd Elsass and his sister Carolyn Yates. He is survived by his wife Marilyn Elsass, stepdaughter Catherine DiFilippo and her husband Tony, stepdaughter Sarah Truitt, daughter Susann Elsass, step granddaughters Emily Hellebuyck and Lydia DiFilippo, step grandson Liam Carden, granddaughter Shanonn Sharpe and her husband Tyler, grandson Benjaminn Elsass and his wife Jeanie, great grandson Jacobb Elsass, and Sister Jean Kachoris and her husband Paul. An informal committal service will be held at Prairie Lawn Cemetery on August 6, 2018 at 10:00 a.m.
