Jack Dale Edwards, 78, of Wellington, passed on Tuesday, July 24, at his home in Wellington.
Jack was born the son of John Forrest and Helen B. (Friend) Edwards on Sunday, June 30, 1940 in Wellington.
On October 1, 1993, Jack and Thelma (Porter) Edwards were united in marriage in South Dakota. Together they celebrated nearly 25 years of marriage.
Jack was employed as a Railroad Clerk with the Rock Island Railroad for over 28 years. He then went on to a career in the aircraft industry where he was employed at Pre-Mac in Wellington for 17 years. Jack retired at the age of 65.
Survivors include his wife, Thelma Jane Edwards; son, Tommy Edwards (Janell Vulgamore) of Wellington; daughter, Dianne Miller (Harvey) of Wellington; son, Richard Edwards (Amber) of Van Alstyne, Texas; step-daughter, Jona Sue Edgerton of Winfield; step-son, Brian Cook (Lorrine) of Wellington; step-son, Brett Cook of Monte Vista, Colorado; brother, John F. Edwards (Virginia) of Ponca City, Oklahoma; brother, Gary Edwards of Arvada, Colorado; sister, MaryAnn Hennig (Phil) of Wellington; granddaughter, Tabitha Thornton (Jimmy) of Mayfield; grandson, Jarrod Miller of Wellington; granddaughter, Jessica Brown (Michael) of Denver, Colorado; grandson, Tyler Miller of Wellington; granddaughter, Lauren Chevalier (Cryprian) of Pinetop, Arizona; granddaughter, Katelyn Davidson (Jake) of Winfield; grandson, Chase Edwards of Wellington; grandson, Logan Campbell (Ashley) of Dallas, Texas; grandson, Adam Edgerton (Amber) of Wellington; granddaughter, Tiffany Mashak of Winfield; granddaughter, Ashley Cook of Cedar Falls, Iowa; grandson, Kyle Johnston of Wichita, Kansas; granddaughter, Brandy Hokit of Oklahoma City; former wife, Janet Whaley of Wellington, along with many wonderful great-grand children and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, older brother, Paul Duane Edwards and step-daughter, Julie Saville.
Memorial services for Jack will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 28, 2018 in the chapel of Cornejo|Day Funeral Home, Wellington.
Interment will follow at the Belle Plaine Cemetery, Belle Plaine.
Memorial funds have been established in his loving memory to Good Shepherd Hospice, DaVita Dialysis or the Mission Thrift Shop. Contributions may be mailed or left with the funeral home.
