Joan Elaine Biggerstaff, 85, of Wellington, died Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice in Wichita. Joan was born the daughter of Joseph and Emma (Svacha) Ciskowski on Wednesday, April 19, 1933 in Enid, Oklahoma. She went on to graduate from Medford (OK) High School. On December 28, 1951, Joan and Jack Biggerstaff were united in marriage in Medford. Together they celebrated 36 years of marriage before his unexpected passing in 1987. Joan was blessed to find love again and married Gordon Robare on December 7, 1991 in Wichita. The couple enjoyed twenty-one years of marriage. Gordon passed in 2013.  Joan was a member of St. Anthony-St. Rose Catholic Church where she was active in CCW and as a Eucharistic Minister. She was a board member for SCR & FSA & RC&D Community Development. Joan enjoyed life best when helping others and she did this through various community groups like 4H and Cub Scouts. Joan additionally volunteered to feed the homeless at the Lord's Diner in Wichita. Above all else, her family was most important to her. Joan adored her large family and cherished the times they spent together.  Survivors include her children: Danny Biggerstaff and his wife Mary of Medford, Oklahoma, Kent Biggerstaff and his wife Teresa of Kaw City, Oklahoma, Bernadette Osburn and her husband Terry of Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota and John Biggerstaff and his wife Candy of Jenks, Oklahoma; sister, Arlene Volker of Wichita, grandchildren: Amy Biggerstaff of Medford, Lori Gonzales and her husband Bobby of Medford, Joe Biggerstaff and his wife Kristi of Garden Plain, Megan Dress and her husband Mark of Medford, Jeff Biggerstaff and his wife Haley of Medford, Clay Biggerstaff and his wife Sherry of Sand Springs, Oklahoma, Katie Newell and her husband Justin of Wichita, Matthew Biggerstaff and his wife Candace of Bartlesville, Travis Biggerstaff of Broken Arrow, Brian Biggerstaff of Broken Arrow, Dustin Osburn and his wife Sarah of Andover, Derek Osburn and his wife Brandi of Olathe, step-grandchildren: April Arnold and her husband Jon and Veronica Conner and her husband Brent, great-grandchildren: Mason, Maddie and Max Drees, Aiden Biggerstaff, Jack and Jacob Biggerstaff, Averie Biggerstaff, Conner and Cayden Biggerstaff, Luke, Tyler and Caleb Osburn, step-great-grandchildren: Cameron and Memphis Arnold and Autumn and Audrey Conner. Additional survivors include her Robare step-children and their families: Marla Messman and husband Jerry, Shirley Hafer and husband Bruce and Richard Robare and his wife Corinne along with Joan's best friend, Eldon Gracy of Winfield.    She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands; grandson, Kurt Biggerstaff, great-grandson, Elyn Gonzales; brother, Raymond Ciskowski and his wife Wilma; sister, Mildred Pickett and her husband Paul and an infant brother.  A viewing will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening at St. Anthony-St. Rose Catholic Church, Wellington, Kansas. Funeral Mass for Joan will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at St. Anthony-St. Rose Catholic Church, Wellington. Graveside services will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery, Clyde, Oklahoma.  Memorials have been established in her loving memory to St. Anthony-St. Rose Catholic Church, Wellington, Kansas or St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery, Clyde, Oklahoma.
