A business has been jump started at 1106 N. A St. in Wellington.
The former Loves gas station is now a Jump Start-Conoco. After a renovation process that started in the spring, the gas station and convenience store has been opened for just over a week. So far business has been pretty good.
"It's had its moments," Jennifer Caudillo-Hobbs, Store Manager said. "We get our rushes in the morning and afternoon."
Like any new business that starts up, there is bound to be a challenge or two along the way.
"I would say just finding a way to let people know that we're here," Owner Navid Haeri said.
There have been customers who have walked in saying they were unaware the Jump Start was open. Another question people have had is why the gas prices aren't on display.
"The sign is on order," Haeri said. "It will probably be three weeks...it's a custom made sign so it will take a little time."
Gas prices are on display at the Jump Start on a marquee sign a few feet south of the gas pumps.
Haeri is looking forward to the opportunity to get involved with the community and it's various sporting events, he said he also wants to get involved with the Chamber of Commerce. Pizza will be available in a couple of weeks, they are also looking to develop a sandwich program.
"I'm in contact with Loves right now, to see if we can have theirs or if we have to start another one," Haeri said.
He said that if there is a product the Jump-Start-Conoco doesn't have customers shouldn’t be afraid to ask.
"The number one thing we focus on is customer service, and second we want to provide a clean well stocked store," the owner said. "We take all request, if some one requests something, we'll get it as long as it's within our means."
To contact the new business, swing by 1106 N. A St. or give them a call at 620-359-1111. The operation is still in its early stages. Haeri pointed out they are still working out some of the kinks, but are excited at the chance to win people over when they visit the Jump Start-Conoco.
"Thing are going great," Haeri said. "We want people to come in...so they can experience the store."
