Will Ravenstein Wellington Daily News Monday’s Wellington school board meeting was quick as the main agenda items was the hiring of new personnel and the promotion of Stephanie Smith. Smith was named the principal of Kennedy Elementary School, effective immediately following a short executive session. Smith was a seventh-grade math teacher at the Wellington Middle School.

Cheyenne Turcotte graduated with a nursing degree with the 2016 class from Butler Community College. The pinning ceremony was conducted May 12 in the BCC gymnaium. The college graduated 63 nurses this spring.
