It has been reported to the Wellington School District that there are two women visiting rural houses, trying to get inside by asking people to take a survey for USD 353. Rick Weiss, district Superintendent said if that happens, call 911.
"We have no employees, we've not acquired the services of anybody taking any kind of surveys or anything like that," Weiss said. "So it is not true."
The Sumner County Sheriffs Department said it has not received reports of this activity, but Captain Mike Yoder said to air on the side of caution.
"If they're suspicious at all, call 911 and we'll send a deputy out to make sure they are who they say they are," Yoder said.
So far the Wellington Police Department has not had any reports on the matter either. Yoder said if these people approach your home, do not let them in.
"Get a description of them, clothing descriptions, height, weight, things like that," Yoder said. "And a vehicle and tag if they could do that too."
Weiss said the age of the two women is between 20 and 30.
"So far the people that we know of — these are females trying to gain access to get inside the house," Weiss said. "...That shouldn't be happening.”
