“It’s a great day to be a member of Team Pompeo,” Pompeo said in an emailed statement. “Our victory tonight is the result of 18 months of hard work by our amazing volunteers, supporters and staff members. We’ve run a campaign focused on our positive message – a message of smaller government, less spending, border security and a strong national defense. Thank you for your unwavering support over the past year and a half.”
Democratic candidate Raj Goyle declared his victory in front of a crowd in Wichita.
"I am very humbled and proud to stand before you tonight as the Democratic Party’s nominee for the United States Congress," Goyle said, also in an emailed statement.
With all precincts reporting, Goyle held a commanding 80-20 lead over his opponent in Kansas' 4th Congressional District.

Though results are unofficial at this time, both candidates already looking to the race in November.
"The next Congressman from Kansas’ 4th District will have one critical and fundamental responsibility — protect and create Kansas jobs," Goyle said.
“We’ve crossed the primary election finish line first – but our work is far from over,” Pompeo said. “We must immediately refocus and work toward victory in November.”
