Kansas Legal Services is offering the free online tax filing program called I-CAN!E-File™. We are also offering a convenient link to the free online state tax filing site for filing Kansas taxes. This great opportunity for low- to moderate income Kansans can be found at kansaslegalservices.org.
Kansans will ultimately save money not only through tax refunds but also by avoiding tax preparation costs and high cost Rapid Anticipation Loans (RAL). The I-CAN!E-File™ program is convenient and easy to use. Individuals can use the system from any computer with Internet access, including public locations such as local libraries, or from home computers. The program asks simple “yes” or “no” questions, and was developed at a fifth grade literacy level to avoid confusion.
The goal for this tax season is to increase outreach and make sure that as many people as possible know about the I-CAN!E-File™ program.
