Wellington City Council candidates locked-in

Twelve candidates have filed for four seats on the Wellington City Council. Wards 1, 2 and 3 each have two candidates, and Ward 4 has four.

In Ward 4, Paula Mortimer is running for re-elecion, having filed on Jan. 13. On Jan. 20, two other candidates filed for Ward 4- Christopher Bruster, and Jan Korte.  Jerry L. Sears signed up today (Jan. 24).  Noon today was the City election filing deadline.

A primary election will be held on Feb. 28 to determine the final two candidates be Ward 4. Polls will be open at the Raymond Frye Complex from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. for residents of Ward 4 to vote.

Long-time Council Member, John M. Tracy Jr. did not file for re-election in Ward 3. Jon K. Holmes filed for the Ward 3 seat on Jan. 23, and Lannon M. Taylor filed on Jan. 24.

Current Council Member,  Chase Weber is up against Bronson L. Campbell for the Ward 2 seat. Both candidates filed on Jan. 18.

John W. M. Brand hopes to keep his seat on the City Council, he is in the running for Ward 1, along with James Shawn. Brand filed on Jan. 20, Shawn on Jan. 17.
