The Kansas Racing and Gaming Commission issued full certification to the Kansas Star Casino on December 17th, immediately following the Kansas Star’s successful completion of the controlled demonstration.

The controlled demonstration held December 16, 2011 was the final stage of the Kansas Racing and Gaming Commission certification process. Last Friday was the first time that customers were allowed inside the casino to play. Over 3,000 guests participated in the regulatory exercise.

During the controlled demonstration players won more than 30 jackpots.  Guests’ winnings from the controlled demonstration were theirs to keep.  However, Kansas Star will donate their gaming proceeds from the event to five south central Kansas charities.

“Obviously we are thrilled about the great outcome of the demonstration,” Scott Cooper, general manager, Kansas Star Casino said. “It’s was gratifying to meet so many people and to welcome them to Kansas Star.”

Phase one of Kansas Star was originally planned to open in early 2012 but good weather, a great team of contractors and close partnership with the Kansas Lottery and responsive regulators at the Kansas Racing and Gaming Commission led to the earlier opening date of December 26th.  The successful completion of the controlled demonstration allows Kansas Star to open even earlier for Lucky Star Players Club member s at the new development in Mulvane, just south of Wichita.

Phase one features a diverse gaming floor with 1,310 slot machines and 32 gaming tables.  Kansas Star employees are ready to provide warm and friendly Kansas hospitality alongside the excitement of Las Vegas style gaming.

“Players at Kansas Star will find familiar games they could play in Las Vegas. No ante or pay-to-play on our table games,” said Mike Dickson, director of gaming at Kansas Star. “We spoke with players all around the region to put together a wide selection of the most popular slot machine themes from Las Vegas and the regional casinos around Kansas.”

Kansas Star Casino has received record-breaking interest in their Lucky Star Player’s Club, which has received more than 28,000 applications from 46 states. Players may sign up for free at www.kansasstarcasino.comor in-person at Kansas Star and receive special benefits such as free play offers, exclusive invitations and more.
