Teens hurt in crash at Woods Park

A Wellington teenager remains in critical condition this morning at Wesley Medical Center after the car she was a passenger in Thursday afternoon slammed into a tree on the west end of Woods Park near Slate Creek. She was air-lifted to the Wichita hospital following the accident.

Five teens were in the car at the time of the wreck and one other passenger was transported from the scene by emergency crews. Police Chief Tracy Heath said the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed and lost control on the gravel roadway.
