The Kansas Lottery Commission has set the agenda for the casino presentations next week in Topeka, and Wellington Area Chamber of Commerce Director Shelley Hansel is arranging a bus trip for community members to attend the presentations. Hansel said news of the bus trip traveled quickly last week by word of mouth, and if enough people present an interest, a bus trip to the presentations will be taken next Monday. To reserve a seat on the bus, contact the Chamber office at 326-7466. The presentations will take place Monday and Tuesday, May 19 and 20 in the Sunflower Ballroom of the Maner Conference Center attached to the Capitol Plaza Hotel, located at 1717 S.W. Topeka Blvd. in Topeka, and will be open to the public. Free parking is available. The Kansas Lottery Commission will hear presentations from all developers seeking to become lottery gaming facility managers May 19-20 in Topeka. The presentations will be made for developments proposed in the South Central, Southwest, and Northeast gaming zones. After opening remarks at 1 p.m. on Monday afternoon, the southcentral gaming zone will lead-off the presentations beginning at 1:30 p.m. Developers from MGM Mirage and Foxwoods Development Group (Sumner Gaming Ventures, LLC) will present from 1:30 to 2 p.m.; Harrah’s Entertainment (Sumner Gaming Joint Venture, LLC) will present from 2:10 to 2:40 p.m.; Penn National Gaming (Penn Sumner, LLC) will present from 2:50 to 3:20 p.m.; and Marvel Gaming, LLC will present from 3:30 to 4 p.m. Developers from the other three gaming zones across the state will make their presentations on Tuesday, May 20. Developers in Sumner County have until the end of this month to successfully negotiate a contract with the Kansas Lottery Commission.
