Wellington, Kan. -

The Sumner County Appraisal announced Tuesday, staff members will be conducting what they call “17 percent Maintenance” beginning this week.
“We will be all over the county reviewing agricultural, residential and commercial properties,” said Sumner County Appraiser Della Rowley. “The vehicles should be clearly marked with the Sumner County logo and all of the staff will have county identification.”
Rowley thanks everyone is advance for their patience while “we do our jobs in compliance with Kansas statutes and as directed by the Kansas Director of Property Valuation.”
Rowley says “We review properties all during the year due to sales, building permits, interiors at the request of taxpayers and for several other reasons.  The ‘17 percent Maintenance’ insures that the entire county has each parcel reviewed and re-measured if necessary, every six years.”
Questions should be directed at 620-326-8986 or by email at sucoappr@co.sumner.ks.us.
