An 18 year-old former Wellington High School student was found dead Friday morning after what police say may be an alcohol-related incident.
    Austin Lee Slanker-Wilson, was a student at Coffeyville Community college, attending on an agriculture scholarship.
    Slanker-Wilson was found early Friday morning, Aug. 15, 2008 at the college.
    His death comes one day after the start of classes for the fall semester.
    The Coffeyville Police Department is
investigating Slanker-Wilson's death, but it appears alcohol may have been a contributing factor.
    Counseling services are available to all students, faculty and staff at the college as needed.
    Slanker-Wilson was a wrestler for WHS but transferred to Oxford at the end of his Sophmore year, according to WHS Principal Dale Liston.
    “It’s a tragedy.” he said.
