Daniel Norris, 59, of Wellington, KS, died on August 24, 2010 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Wichita, KS.
Graveside Funeral Services are scheduled for 10:00 A.M., Saturday, August 28, 2010 at the Sumner Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Wellington. Visitation will be held from 9:00 to 8:00P.M. Friday, August 27th with the family receiving friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Hawks-Shelley Funeral Home & Crematory of Wellington, KS. Daniel Dean Norris was born on October 28, 1950 in Little Rock, Arkansas the son of Gordon and Lorene (Weir) Norris. He was a 1968 graduate of Argonia High School. After High School, Dan faithfully served his country during the Viet Nam War in the United States Army. Dan was united in marriage with Bonnie Cooper on October 12, 1974. Dan worked at Cessna as an Avionics Technician for over 20 years. He enjoyed computers as well as fishing and camping. He had a favorite cat named Scruffy.
Surviving to honor his memory are his son Shane Norris and fiancé Sabrina Daukei of Winfield, KS, daughter Shana Probst and husband Cody of Junction City, KS, brothers Sam Norris of Wellington and Bob Norris of Arkansas City, sister Diana Ward of Caldwell, KS and grandchildren Braedon Norris and Brylin Probst.
Daniel was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Gary “Snooks” Norris.
