William H. "Bill" Harris, of Wellington, Kansas, died Saturday, Aug. 12, 2017 at Sumner Regional Medical Center at the age of 66.
William was born the son of George S. and Hazel Pearl (Myers) Harris on Friday, Oct. 13, 1950 in Wellington.
Bill joined the United States Navy and served during the Vietnam War.
He lived in Dallas, Texas for many years and worked at the family's Mobil Gas Station.
In the early 90's, Bill moved to Kansas and met Angie DeFrenchi. The two have been together for over 20 years.
He worked at Theurer Auction for many years detailing vehicles and equipment.
Bill's many interests include the Dallas Cowboys, KU basketball, NASCAR, Dale Earnhardt, Sr. and woodworking. He will be missed by his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Angie DeFrenchi Harris of Wellington; daughter, Shelly Kuhnert of Topeka, Kan.; son, Toby Harris of Sabetha, Kan.; step-daughter, Rachel Hansen and her husband Dave of Wellington; step-daughter, Amber DeFrenchi of Independence, Kan.; brother, Jack Harris and his wife Norma of Wichita; grandchildren: Trenton Kuhnert, Alexis Harris, Summer Schneider and her husband Travis, Chelsea Hansen, Tytus Cornejo and his wife April, Justin Cornejo and his wife Celeste, Jocelyn Cornejo and her fiancé Silvino, Julius, Armancio and Mia Arrendondo and Noah F. and 17 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 11 brothers and sisters and a close nephew, Clark Harris.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2017 with the family present from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Graveside services for Bill will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 17, 2017 at the Kansas Veterans Cemetery in Winfield, Kansas.
A memorial fund has been established in his loving memory to the Bryce Day Memorial Foundation. Contributions may be mailed or left with the funeral home.
