Jack Barnes, of Wellington, died Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2017 at his daughter's residence in White Oak, Texas at the age of 80.
Jack was born the son of Calvin and Georgia (Holder) Barnes on Saturday, Feb. 11, 1937 in Houston, Texas. Jack grew up in Northeast Oklahoma and he served his country for five years in the United States Navy.
On July 1, 1960, Jack and Barbara Warehime were united in marriage in Neosho, Mo. Together they celebrated 50 years of marriage before her passing in 2011.
In April of 2014, Jack found love again with Melva Schalk.
Survivors include his daughter, Tracey Allen and her husband Michael of White Oak, Texas; daughter, Lori Lamirand and her husband Randy of Longview, Texas; daughter, Carrie Folmar and her husband Larry of Edna, Texas; daughter, Julie Moore of High Point, N.C.; brother, Don Barnes of Dewey, Okla.; sisters: Doris Lamar of Childers, Okla., and Janet Bell of Warrensburg, Mich. Jack is also survived by Melva Schalk and her children: Gayle Glenn and her husband Steven of Mayfield; Shelly Martin of Wellington; Brad Schalk and his wife Sarah of Skiatook, Okla.; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Barbara Barnes and sisters: Lois Meek and Betty Jean Barnes.
Visitation will be held at Cornejo-Day Funeral Home in Wellington, Kansas from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 1, 2017 with the family present from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Graveside services for Jack will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday, Oct. 2, 2017 in the Ball Cemetery near Nowata, Okla.
