Stephen Thomas Jamerson, of Mayfield, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, September 28, 2017 near Wellington, at the age of 16.
Stephen was born the son of Stephen "Travis" and Shannon Richelle (Thomas) Jamerson on Thursday, March 15, 2001 in Wellington.
He was a Junior at Wellington High School where he was a member of the WHS Band and the Clay Target Shooting Team. Stephen was an employee at Braums in Wellington and worked in all areas of the store. He was particularly proud to be a Junior Instructor at the LB School of Self Defense where he was a third Degree Brown Belt. Stephen loved animals and nature and always enjoyed hunting and fishing with family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.
Survivors include his parents, Travis and Shannon Jamerson of Mayfield; sister, Alison Voshell and her husband Josiah; sister, Kaitlyn Hobbs and her husband David, nephews: Owen and Aiden Hobbs; grandparents, Albert and Janie Tuttle all of Wellington, grandfather, Donald Forsyth of Orlando, Fla.; great-grandmother, Gloria Tuttle of Columbus, Ind., aunts and uncles: Wilson Jamerson and his wife Jerri Dawn of Oklahoma City, Okla., Lenea Nicholson and her husband Derek of Maize, Kan., Kari Clift and her husband Sean of Wellington, Kyle Tuttle of Wellington, Patricia Schelingbargar of Wichita, Delori Dulany and her husband Mike of Orlando, Fla., and Aaron Thomas and his wife Michelle of Wichita, along with numerous cousins and a large family of friends.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Andrea Jehle; grandfather, Leonard Thomas; grandmother, Rindalee Forsyth and uncle, Robert Thomas.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2017.
Memorial services for Stephen will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2017 in the First United Methodist Church, Wellington.
Interment will follow at the Osborne Cemetery in Mayfield, Kansas.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in his loving memory to the Wellington Humane Society or the Kansas Humane Society. Contributions may be mailed or left with the funeral home.
