Frances Irene Meyers, 94, a Northland resident of Kansas City, Mo., and formerly of Wellington, passed away on Monday, Oct. 9, 2017 at Linden Woods Village.  

Frances was born Feb. 22, 1923 to Henry Jake and Agnes (Propp) Niedens in Russell, Kan.

She was united in marriage with David Carl Meyers in 1942 in Oxford. 

In addition to David, she was preceded in death by a son, Stephen Meyers, both parents, and a sister, Doris Smith.    

She was devoted to both her faith and her family. Frances was very active in her church, Calvary Lutheran Church in Wellington. She also enjoyed being a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and spending time with her grandchildren.

Survived by her daughter, Peggy Wilkerson and husband, Terry; two grandchildren: Carrie Breitenstein and husband, Zachary of Kansas City, Mo., and Andrew David Wilkerson and wife, Michelle of Kansas City, Mo.; a great-granddaughter, Phoebe Breitenstein. 

A private service celebrating Frances’ life will be held at the Meyers Northland Chapel in Parkville.  She will be laid to rest next to her husband and son at the Prairie Lawn Cemetery in Wellington, KS.  

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association and may be left in care of the Meyers Northland Chapel, 401 Main St. Parkville, MO 64152.
