    Maxi Howe, of Wellington, Kansas, proud mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, died Sunday, August 1, 2010 at Sumner Regional Medical Center in Wellington, Kansas at the age of 75.
    Maxi was born the daughter of Henrietta (Frisch) and Dr. Allen Cullen, Sr. on Wednesday, August 22, 1934 in Atlanta, Georgia.
    On February 14, 1963, Maxi and Tom R. Howe were united in marriage in Wellington, Kansas. Together they celebrated 43 years of marriage.
    Maxi had a love for both reading and writing poetry. She was a lifetime member of the International Society of Poetry. Maxi also enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. Barbecue ribs and fruit cakes were among her specialties. Maxi lived with her family in the Seattle, Washington area for 27 years. She was an avid sports fan for the Seattle Mariners and Seahawks; but would cheer "Go Broncos" when leaving town.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Bradley Beach, daughter Melanie Sowell, brothers; Irving Cullen and Allen Cullen, Jr.
    Survivors include her children; Timothy Beach and his wife LiChin of Taipei, Taiwan, Brian Beach of Wellington, Kansas, Brenda Stewart and her husband Rick of Wellington, Kansas, Sherrie Blocker of Seattle, Washington, sisters; Diana Massey of Seattle, Washington and Dorene Miller of Everett, Washington, 12 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and her niece and best-friend Sharon Howe-Vaughn.
    Funeral services for Maxi will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 4, 2010 in the chapel of Day Funeral Home, Wellington, Kansas.
    Memorials have been established in her loving memory with Grace Baptist Fellowship, P.O. Box 493, Wellington, Kansas 67152. Contributions can be mailed or left with the funeral home.
