Everett Melvin Booth, of Wellington, Kansas, retired mechanic, died Friday, September 12, 2008 at the Kansas Heart Hospital in Wichita, Kansas at the age of 92.

Everett was born the son of Claude and Myrtle A. (Riley) Booth on Sunday, October 31, 1915 in Grant County, Oklahoma.

Everett joined the United States Navy in 1942 and served during WWII. After completing his military service, he lived in Caldwell, Kansas and later moved to Liberal, Kansas.

In 1958, Everett re-located to Seattle, Washington. He became a member of Christ the Savior Lutheran Church in George, Washington in 1963 and in recent years attended the Attica United Methodist Church. Everett lived in Washington state for 24 years. He moved from Washington to Las Vegas, Nevada for a few years in 1982. Everett returned to Kansas in 1984, originally to Caldwell and later to Wellington, where he has enjoyed his retirement with friends and family. Everett particularly enjoyed travelling and dancing with his special friend Betty Russell

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dorothy (Eldredge) Booth; son, Ronald Lee Booth, long time friend, Leslie Cox and sister Evelyn.

Survivors include his children, Larry Booth and his wife Andrea of Lake Cormorant, Mississippi and Regina Baldoni and her husband Tony of Baltimore, Maryland, special friend, Betty Ferrell of Attica, Kansas, foster son, Floyd Bacon, grandchildren; Doug Booth, Shane Booth, Curtis Booth, Jimmy Booth, Ryan Harding, great-grandchildren; David Whitman, Dreyden Booth, Kendra and Cayden Booth, brothers, Ivan Booth and Earl Booth, sisters, Deloris and Lucille Mitchell and a host of friends in Attica, Wellington and many of the communities he lived in throughout the years.

Funeral services for Everett will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 16, 2008 in the chapel of Day Funeral Home, Wellington, Kansas.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Monday, September 15, 2008 with the family present in the evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Following cremation, a private interment will take place in the Kansas Veterans Cemetery, Winfield, Kansas.
