Lenora L. (Pennington) Strong, 96, of Caldwell, loving wife, mother and grandmother went to be with her Heavenly Father on Monday, June 16, 2008.
    Lenora was born the daughter of Charles H. and Naomi (Collins) Pennington on Thursday, Aug. 17, 1911 in rural Sumner County.
    On Dec. 24, 1935, Lenora and Elvin Strong were united in marriage at Winfield. Together they celebrated nearly 62 years of marriage.
    She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Elvin Strong in October of 1997.
    Survivors include: her son, Don Strong and his wife Janice of Caldwell; daughter, Patsy Cink of South Haven; son, Mervyl Strong and his wife Bernadette of Littleton, Colo.; daughter, Connie Strong of Wichita; sister, Ruby Tull of The Dalles, Ore.; grandchildren; Donnie Strong, Melody Shaw and her husband Bobby, Janelle Strong, Kevin Cink and his wife Janice, Teresa Cink, Jason Cink and his wife Linda, Kimberly Cink, Darren Strong, Christopher Strong and his wife Bonny; 15 great-grandchildren; nephew, Charles Moore and his wife Connie; niece, Joanna Milligan and her husband Jerry.
    Graveside funeral services for Lenora will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, June 19, 2008 at the Caldwell City Cemetery, Caldwell, with Pastor Richard Awtrey officiating.
    Friends may call at the funeral home from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Wednesday, June 18, 2008.
    A memorial has been established in her loving memory with Hospice Care of Kansas, 1010 W. 8th Street, Wellington, KS 67152. Contributions can be mailed or left with the funeral home.
