Robert (Bob) Saunders 76, of Fountain Hills, AZ, quietly went into the arms of our Lord on Jan 22, 2010. He was born Feb 1, 1933 to Samuel and Anna Saunders in Wellington Kansas. He was predeceased by his mother and father, brothers, Ed Saunders of Wellington, Joe Saunders of Phoenix AZ, Harold Saunders of Wellington KS, Mary Sue Ford of Branson, Mo, Jean Glasgow from Wellington, KS. Bob’s ’ twin sister, Betty Hochevar of Wellington.
Bob grew up in Wellington Kansas and after graduating from Wellington High School in 1951, Bob served in active duty with the Navy for 8 years followed by 4 years of reserve service. After active duty he was employed at Boeing aircraft from 1958 to 1995 when he retired. In 1998 Bob and Ramona moved to Fountain Hills AZ where they have resided since.
Bob was a 32nd degree Mason of the Midian Temple in Wichita KS a Worthy Noble of the Mystic Shrine, also in Wichita KS.
Bob is survived by his wife, Ramona of Fountain Hills, AZ a son, Rob Saunders and daughter-in law, Marsha Saunders of Clearwater, Ks and Alan Saunders of Wichita, Kansas and Anna Saunders of Fountain Hills, AZ.
Four grandchildren, Nicholas Saunders of Wichita, KS, Julian Saunders, Jadyn Saunders, Skyler Saunders of Wichita KS A brother, Fred Saunders of Porum, OK and a very special friend of 11 years, Jasmine (Siamise Cat ) who was a delight to him and he to her.
A Memorial Service has been arranged for Feb. 27 at 11:00am at the First United Methodist Chapel in Wellington Ks. This is the same Chapel that Bob and Ramona were married in 51 years ago. Bob has donated his body to the Science Center in Phoenix, AZ. His cremated remains will remain with his wife in his home in Fountain Hills, AZ. In leiu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Hospice of the Valley in Scottsdale AZ in his name.
