Oh, to be annoyed in March

    Some things annoy me...
•Take for instances a letter to the editor I read in Sunday's Wichita Eagle. This reader was chastising people for getting excited about the Wichita State Shockers playing in the College Basketball Invitational Tournament.
I'm not real excited about it either, but who is he to condemn people who are? What is wrong with people taking pleasure in something that can bring them legitimate great joy (which wasn’t the case Monday night when they lost to Stanford).
I have a hard time with people who mock others for liking something they deem insignificant and unworthy. Those people aren't happy people...
•...March weather annoys me. It’s hot, it’s cold, it’s windy, it’s hot again. Make up your mind!...
•...People complaining about the NCAA basketball tournament interrupting their favorite program annoy me. Think of it this way: It's not like their favorite programs aren’t interrupting a perfectly good basketball game I want to watch on TV at that moment...
•...Weathermen annoy me in general, but they really annoy me when they interrupt anything I'm watching for a possible rainstorm in Eureka. I'm thinking technology will solve this problem very soon...
•... My tournament bracket annoys me. I filled one out on the ESPN.com web site and checked it the other day and I was in the bottom 5 percent of all brackets filled out. But I have hope. If Gonzaga gets to the Final Four I'll be doing all the laughing...
•...Very little about the NCAA basketball tournament annoys me, but the number of commercial breaks do. There is one exception: that commercial about the dad, whose a Washington alum, not speaking to his daughter's boyfriend, who goes to Connecticut, because of a basketball game played 10 years ago is one of the funniest commercials I've seen in awhile...
•...Talk about the demise of the print newspaper annoys me. There is nothing like grabbing a paper after a big sports day and reading about the games I just saw the night before. Yes those game reports are online, but it still isn't the same...
•...People who are so quick to condemn any new thing or proposal coming to Wellington annoy me. Take, for example, this "Rockfest" proposal coming to the Wellington Lake this summer that could attract 3,500 people. Why would anybody be against that? Is it because our Wellington businesses have way too many customers already, or is it because it’s against the law to have fun in this area?...
•... Little things annoy me as well. I don't care for kids who loaf during a game, parents who cry about their child's lack of playing time, people yelling at me for not having enough ink on their favorite child, blaming refs for a loss, or dogs who make messes in my house. But that's just annoyances I choose to live with...
•...The Denver Broncos are annoying me. I'm tired of everybody fighting. The owner, the coach and quarterback Jay Cutler are all babies and need to play nice with one another...
Ok, I'm done. What an annoying column I just wrote.
