The “Premier Basketball Fundamentals Camp” is coming to Wellington.
This will be a five-week camp which will run July 7 through Aug. 8 at the Wellington High School gymnasium.
The camp will be held every day from 1 to 2:30 p.m. and is for students from first grade through senior high.
The camp will be taught by the high school and middle school coaches including head boys basketball coach Brian Buchanan as well as Eric Adams, Luke Smith, Kim LeWellen and Kelly Nance.
The camp is unique in that it will teach fundamentals provided by skillschamp.com.
The camp is spearheaded through Leonard Scheufler, a former coach and father of Kristen Mallory, who coached the Lawrence High School girls basketball team to a state championship.
The camp will include a T-shirt and an athlete’s web site.
The cost is $159 for early registration or $179 during the camp.
So far there are 12 registered for the camp, Scheufler said.
