WELLINGTON — The Sumner County Sizzler was played Saturday, June 6 and Sunday June 7.
There were 30 teams spread across four age groups: 10U (6), 14U (10), 16U (5) and 18U (9).
The 10U and 16U age groups played at Rock Island and the 14U and 18U age groups played at Worden Park.
Winning the 10U age division was Motley Crue, a team that has Wellington ties with Riley Buck and Madison Adams playing on that team, and runner-up were the Ripits from Winfield.
Wellington and Mayfield also fielded teams in this age group with, Wellington being coached by Jeff Masonhall and Patti Sober and Mayfield coached by Kim Lewellen.
In the 14U age group the Jitterbugs from the Wichita area were crowned champions. The runner-up was the Fusion from the Cheney area.
The Kansas Elite won the 16-under division and the McPherson Lady Express brought home second place.
Two Wellington players were on the Kansas Elite: Shaelyn Hamel and Callie Manche.
The 18-under age division was won by the Salt City Crush from Hutchinson and the runner-up being the C'Ville Sluggers from Coffeyville.
