The Kansas State High School Activities Association has just announced the football district lineups for 2010 and 2011.
Wellington will be playing in Class 4A District 11 and will be playing Clearwater, Mulvane and Winfield. These will be the three opponents Wellington must play to get into the playoffs next season.
District 12 will consist of Andale, Cheney, Maize South and Wichita Trinity.
The west half of Class 4A looks loaded. Class 4A power Topeka Hayden is again in the west half and is in District 9.
The full Wellington schedule for next year will be released shortly.
In other Sumner County news:
Conway Springs will battle Chaparral, Kingman and Medicine Lodge in District 12. Garden Plain has been sent elsewhere and play with Halstead, Hutchinson Trinity and Sedgwick.
Belle Plaine is in with Douglass, Wichita Collegiate and Wichita Independent.
Oxford will be in Division I eight-man district 1 with Central/Burden, Cedar Vale/Dexter, West Elk, Sedan and Udall.
