Wellington, Kan. -

Four Wellington swimmers got Division II qualifying times at the Wellington-El Dorado swim meet held the Wellington Aquatic Center Tuesday evening.
Devin McCue, Tristton Tracy, Bliss Baird and Alex Hinman joined the DII qualifiers of last week, bringing the total to nine for the Sailfish. DII times are time standards set by Missouri Valley Swimming officials.
If a swimmer makes a certain time, he/she will qualify for the Division II meet being held this year in Derby in July.
Overall, El Dorado won the swim meet 421 to 259 taking advantage in the relay events.
McCue and Baird were also Wellington's two top point getters, placing first in all three of their individual events.
Each accounted for 15 points a piece. Matthew Hurley finished with 13.
McCue, swimming in 11-12 year olds, placed first in the 50 meter freestyle and 50 meter backstroke where he got DII times in both. He also placed first in the 200 meter individual medley in a close race with teammate Tracy that was decided in the last second.
Baird was a first-place winner in the 50 freestyle, 100 freestyle and the 200 IM.
She qualified in the 50-meter freestyle with a 44.13 after winning an exciting race against Kelsey Clannan of El Dorado.
Tracy was a DII qualifier in the 11-12 meter breaststroke with a 50.50 time.
Alex Hinman got a DII time in the 9-10 50-meter breaststroke with a 56.35 time.
Wellington had several swimmers with personal best times. Many saw their times plunge by as many as 20 seconds.
The Sailfish travel to Winfield next Tuesday at 6 p.m.
