Fitch, Davidson named to Kansas All-Star team

    Jake Davidson and Kalen Fitch of South Haven  were two ingredients to the Cardinals run to the Eight-man Division II State Championship game in Newton in 2007.
  They were being rewarded for their outstanding season by playing in the 23rd annual Kansas 8-man All-Star football game in Beloit which was held June 7 at the Trojan Field on N. Hersey Aven. in Beloit.
   The two boys played for the All-star East squad.
  South Haven finished the 2007 campaign with a record-setting year, finishing 12-1 for the year and playing against Sharon Springs for all the marbles, before eventually losing.
   Davidson, the son of Ted Davidson and Beth Davidson, had 1,011 yards rushing on 122 attempts for the year.
   He rushed for 22 touchdowns and had a 77.8 ypg average.
   Fitch, the son of Kevin and Lori Fitch, was a leading receiver and defender for the Cardinals.
    In 2007 he had eight receptions for 91 yards for a 11.4 average. He scored three touchdowns.
    Davidson plans to attend Independence Community College and play football.
    Fitch plans to attend Kansas State in Salina.
