The Kansas Renegades, a Class A level ASA softball team, were recent winners of the 18-under state softball tournament in Wichita.
    Madison Hughes, an all-league catcher for the Wellington High School Crusaders and a Pratt Community College bound player,  is a member of the team.
    The Renegades would beat another Renegades team for the fast-pitch title held at Two Rivers Youth Club in Wichita, June 27-29. The team will now advance to a state tournament in Kansas City.
    Hughes is the daughter of Terry Hughes and Jean Ann Hughes.
