Call it reshuffling the deck.
The Wellington School District have officially hired the 2010-11 coaches and most every coach was hired within the system and has served in another coaching capacity.
At Thursday's school board meeting:
•John McComb was named the head high school wrestling coach.
•Jesse Dale was named the head high school baseball coach.
•Luke Smith was named an assistant boys basketball coach.
•Brianna Durler was named a ninth grade volleyball coach.
There will be three new coaches at the helm at Wellington High School. Cherity Elder was named the head high school volleyball coach earlier this year.
Thus ends what became a rather active off season for coaching changes in the athletic department.
McComb, who has seen success as the Wellington Middle School wrestling coach, has been elevated to the high school job. He will be replacing Jesse Dale, who was the head coach for the past three years.
Dale — yes, the same person — replaces Mike Wilmoth, who submitted his resignation earlier in the year.
Dale was the junior varsity baseball coach for several seasons before being elevated to assistant head coach last spring.
He also started the American Legion program this summer which was made up primarily of high school players for next spring.
Both McComb and Dale are already teachers for USD 353.
Smith was the head girls basketball coach three years ago and will be serving under Brian Buchanan in the high school basketball system.
Durler is a rule 10 coach.
Wellington High School has now hired all of its head coaches for the school year.
