WELLINGTON — J'Lynn Ledesma, a two-time state champion in the Kansas high jump, added one more honor this weekend.
She won at the Golden West Invitational in Folsom, Calif. by clearing the bar at 5-7. This marks the second straight year she's won this event.
She tied Alexis Walker of Pasadena, Calif., who also cleared 5-7, but Ledesma won the tiebreaker.
This was her last prep meet and was representing Wellington High School at the meet.
On June 22 she moves on to the junior nationals in Eugene Oregon and the Wichita State coaching staff will be there to work with her, according to Linda Ledesma, J'Lynn's mother.
