Catbackers to hold annual event Friday in Wellington

    MANHATTAN – The Sumner County Catbackers will host a golf tournament, dinner and auction Friday, June 26, at the Wellington Golf Course.
    The tournament begins at noon with check-in and a shotgun start at 1 p.m. The format is a four-person scramble to support Kansas State University’s Mike Ahearn Scholarship Fund, said Lon Floyd, development officer and director of Catbacker clubs for K-State Athletics.
    The dinner begins with a social hour at 5:30 p.m. at the golf course Pavilion. Guest speakers will include members of the K-State football coaching staff and student-athlete ambassadors. Other campus guests attending will include Wyatt Thompson, Voice of the Wildcats; Tom Roesler , associate director of alumni clubs for the K-State Alumni Association; and Floyd.
    The deadline to make reservations for both events is Friday, June 19.
