Southwestern College are called the Moundbuilders.
They might want to be change their name to the "Crusader graduates."
The NAIA college in Winfield signed its fourth Wellington High School athlete Friday Morning.
Troy Mirt, a 5-10, 210 pound, fullback and linebacker, signed with Southwestern to play similar positions there.
Mirt joins Eric Anders, who signed to run cross country; Sarah Amrein, who is playing women's basketball; and Josh Sapp, who is expected to sign in tennis as SC.
Wellington has always had a presence at Southwestern in various sport. In 2009, Wellington graduate Zak Tazkargy was named a first team all-conference defensive linebacker in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Confererence.
Ken Crandall, SC head football coach, said Mirt could play linebacker right beside Tazkargy making for a Wellington duo presence in the linebacking corp.
If things don't work out there, he anticipates moving Mirt to fullback on offense.
Mirt is one of 20 student-athletes who have signed with Crandall's Moundbuilders.
The signing ceremony took place at the Wellington High School library Friday morning and capped what has been a busy week for WHS seniors.
As mentioned, Amrein signed Wednesday where she is expected to play post for SC women's head woman's basketball coach Dave Denly.
Also on Wednesday, both Wellington High School seniors Kiersten Howell and Derian Weber signed with Pratt Community College to play softball.
There are expected to be a couple of other WHS signings in football but they haven't become official at press time.

College signings have been a little slow around the county. There were no signings at Caldwell, Belle Plaine, Oxford or Argonia.
In Conway Springs, there has been one so far: Sheri Zoglmann, who signed with Southwestern to play guard.
There were no Cardinal football players signing to play college ball, which is slightly unusual since so many Conway Springs players have gone on to play collegiately.
In South Haven, Christian Howell, a tight end/linebacker for the Cardinals, signed in football at Bethel College in North Newton and will probably play linebacker.
