WELLINGTON – Dorothy Macel Bachman of Wellington, Kansas passed away on December 4, 2021. Macel was born in Argonia, Kansas on March 31, 1931 to Charles and Amy Oldridge. She married Delbert Ellsworth “Bud” Bachman on February 19, 1955. Bud and Mace shared many loving years together until his death in 2010.
Macel was an employee of Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. She worked as a switchboard operator in Wellington and as an engineering clerk and central ticket investigator in Wichita, Kansas. She retired in 1981.
She will be remembered for being kind and gentle and always making her loved ones feel adored. She is survived by her daughter Denice Hodgkinson and husband Gary, daughter Kelly Mildfelt and husband Todd, grand-daughters Chelsea Bradbury, Shannon Jacobo and husband Alfredo, Sarah Board and husband Jay, Megan Hartman, Bayley Byers and husband Ben, Taylor Kahle and husband Craig, great grandchildren Sam, Sully, Liam, Raleigh, Evie, JD, Cora, Hudson, and nieces and nephews.
Macel was preceded in death by her loving husband Bud, her parents, Sisters Xava Phillippi and Anne Diacon, and brothers Clifford Oldridge, Clarence Oldridge, Cecil Oldridge, Kenneth Oldridge and John Oldridge.
A graveside service will be held in Argonia, Kansas.
