Wilfred N. “Bill” Rausch

Wilfred N. “Bill” Rausch passed away on Monday, September 12, 2022 at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital in Tallahassee, Florida at the age of 78. Bill was born the son of Oscar and Marie (Schild) Rausch on October 29, 1943 in Garden Plain, Kansas. Following high school, Bill enlisted in the military where he served in both the US Army Air Corps and later in the US Air Force. Upon completion of his service, Bill then began his lifelong career in the aircraft maintenance industry. He was the lead Aircraft Maintenance Technician at TWA and later American Airlines in Kansas City and retired after a 40 year career in 2005. On August 14, 2004, he and Marcie (Burns) Rausch were united in marriage in Las Vegas, Nevada and recently celebrated their 18th anniversary together. The couple made their retirement home in Florida where they have resided since.

Survivors include his wife, Marcie Rausch of Carrabelle, Florida; son, Russell Rausch and wife Jackie of Moscow Mills, Missouri; granddaughter, Rhiannon Bowles and husband Anthony of Mission, Kansas; step-daughter, Shannon Procacci of Florida; step-son, Lonny Ryburn of Kansas, siblings: Raymond Rausch, Theresa Lucas, Leonard Rausch, Mary Richardson, Tom Rausch, Donna VanPelt, Jerry Rausch, Linda Ferguson along with their spouses and numerous nieces, nephews and their families.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Marie Rausch; brother, Bernard “Butch” Rausch and by Russell and Denise’s mother, Janice Cliff.

A viewing will be held at the funeral home from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Friday, September 23, 2022.

Recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 7:00 p.m., Friday evening, September 23, 2022 at St. Anthony St. Rose Catholic Church, Wellington, Kansas.

Funeral Mass for Bill begins at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 24, 2022 at St. Anthony St. Rose Catholic Church, Wellington, Kansas. Interment will follow and begin at 12:15 p.m. at St. Mary’s Aleppo Catholic Cemetery located North of Garden Plain, Kansas.
