Don’t let his name fool you, he is the most happy-go-lucky dog at the shelter! He has lived with kids, cats, dogs, goats, rats, chickens, and ducks! He is very laid-back and extremely sweet! His whole butt wiggles with happiness when you stop by his kennel! He is about 8 years old and weighs 68 pounds.

The City of Wellington has announced that James Winham has been hired as the community’s new Fire Chief and Emergency Medical Services Director.
Wellington High School students in the Business Professionals of America (BPA) program competed in the State Leadership Conference last Thursday and Friday, showcasing their skills in business, finance, technology, and leadership events. Thirteen WHS students placed at State, with five earning a spot at the National Leadership Conference in Orlando, FL, on May 7-11.
Wellington Park & Cemetery staff are working on the Jefferson Park playground expansion, which will feature three new pieces of inclusive playground equipment. Crews are preparing the area for the installation of pour-in-place surfacing, funded by a Kansas Waste Tire Grant.
The Board of County Commissioners met in regular session in the Commission room of the Sumner County Courthouse. Those present were Chairman Jim Newell, Commissioner John Cooney and Commissioner Steve Warner.
